Central Yorkshire Area Meeting
11 November 2017
10 am - 4 pm
at Ackworth School/Quaker Meeting House
Helping seekers find Quakers – being worth the finding.
We welcome all members and attenders of CYAM to our morning “in-reach”
session – a time for learning and sharing, and reflecting on our Quaker faith.
We plan to consider the following questions posed by the Quaker Life
Representative Council, using worship-sharing and discussion.
What first attracted you to Quakers? What were your first impressions
of the Meeting(s) you attended?
What still excites and inspires you about being a Quaker?
What are you less happy about?
How does your Meeting reach out to your local community?
What have you learnt from newcomers and enquirers about what
attracted them to Quakers, and about what their first impressions
have been?
We hope to gain ideas and inspiration from one another, and to be helped to
reach out to those who seek us.
In the afternoon we will hold our regular Area Meeting for Worship for
business, and we particularly welcome Friends who are attending for the first
time or are unable to attend very often. Attenders may come to area meeting
by prior permission of the clerk – please ask your local meeting elders or
clerk if you would like to come.
Lunch and morning/afternoon drinks will be provided by Ackworth meeting
